For many years, families who chose First Presbyterian Preschool for K3-Kindergarten had no option which allowed their children to continue on a similar curriculum path in grammar school and beyond. Many of these families expressed a desire to have their children continue in the God-centered, loving and academically rigorous environment they had come to know and love at FPP.

In 1995, God answered the prayers of these families in the founding of Providence Christian School, another ministry of First Presbyterian Church and a natural continuation of the FPP experience. Providence is a classical, Christian school which strives to educate young minds for the challenges of a modern age using methods which have stood the test of centuries. With an accelerated curriculum based upon the trivium, the PCS learning experience maximizes student potential by instructing in ways which best complement the stages of child development. All subjects are taught from a biblical worldview, and student activities--from the classroom to athletic field to the mission field--are designed to encourage each child to be "all God calls him to be."
